Overview
Rickett's Dry Cleaners, a business / dry cleaners located at 2017-2019 Doubleday Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY, was constructed in 1930 and underwent a gut rehabilitation in 1955. The building was demolished in March 2022 after being designated a New York State Superfund Site due to contamination from dry cleaning chemicals. The site was officially cleaned up following EPA and NYSDEC oversight, with cleanup activities beginning in February 2022 and concluding with the demolition of the structure. Prior to demolition, the interior contained unclaimed garments, industrial ironing presses, and outdated laundry equipment, with significant water infiltration noted. The property was abandoned after operations ceased in 2014.
